The Industrial Free Trade Zone (ZFI) will host the ZFI Environmental Award 2025 ceremony this Wednesday, July 29th, marking its 16th edition. The event will be held at the ZFI offices in Caniçal and will be attended by the Regional Secretary for Finance, Duarte Freitas, and the Regional Secretary for Tourism, Environment, and Culture, Eduardo Jesus.
The initiative is promoted by Sociedade de Desenvolvimento da Madeira (SDM) as part of its social and environmental responsibility policy. The award aims to encourage companies located in the ZFI to strengthen their commitment to sustainability, promoting continuous improvement in environmental performance.
Nine companies will be honored in this edition. Three will receive the award for the best overall environmental performance, while the remaining six will be recognized for achieving the maximum rating in the environmental criteria defined. Over sixteen editions, the award has helped consolidate a culture of environmental responsibility among ZFI companies.
