The Madeira Regional Command of the Public Security Police said it had identified the rider of a motorcycle who, at the end of the previous day on the Estrada Monumental, engaged in particularly dangerous driving.
Today at noon, police located and identified the suspect, a 21-year-old man. Six administrative offence reports were drawn up, covering lack of civil liability insurance, disobeying a traffic officer's stop order, driving against the authorised direction, and an unlawful overtaking. The motorcycle and the driving licence were seized.
Police stress that such behaviour endangers the riders themselves as well as other road users, and urge responsible and safe driving.
