27 Porto Santo Farmers Certified in Phytopharmaceutical Product Application

The Regional Secretary of Agriculture and Fisheries, Nuno Maciel, presented certificates of completion for the Phytopharmaceutical Product Application course to 27 farmers on the island of Porto Santo.

The training, organized by the Division of Training and Research of Agriculture and Fisheries, had the main objective of ensuring the safe, responsible, and controlled use of these products. The initiative aims to safeguard public health, protect the environment, ensure consumer safety, and promote more sustainable agricultural practices.

The process for renewing the applicator card for Madeiran farmers has been simplified, with applications now handled by the Regional Directorate of Agriculture and Rural Development or at Regional Secretariat counters, a measure designed to reduce bureaucracy and costs for farmers.
