Eugénio Perregil, representing the UK, highlighted post-Brexit challenges and the current economic climate, warning about stricter British immigration policies while commending Portuguese consular services. Paulo Ferreira, representing the USA and originally from Funchal, aims to create a database of Madeirans in New England and offered his experience to the community.
Both councilors, appointed by the Regional Government, emphasized the importance of maintaining a close link between Madeira and its emigrants worldwide, responding to the unique challenges faced in each nation.
