A 37-year-old man, of French nationality, has died aboard a recreational vessel anchored off Porto Santo, in Madeira. The National Maritime Authority released the information, stating that the causes of death are currently unknown.
The alert was received at 8:36 AM when an acquaintance of the victim could not establish contact. Elements of the Local Command of the Porto Santo Maritime Police were immediately dispatched. Upon reaching the vessel, they confirmed the man showed no vital signs.
The boat was towed to Porto Santo Marina, where a Health Delegate conducted an inspection. The Judicial Police are carrying out investigations and precautionary measures to ascertain the facts. The Maritime Police Psychology Office has also been activated.
