An 86-year-old woman was rescued on Monday morning after becoming immobilized inside her residence on Travessa da Pena, in Funchal.
The alert was raised around 8:50 AM when neighbors heard the elderly woman desperately calling for help. The Madeirense Volunteer Firefighters were dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters accessed the home through a window, as the door was locked. After receiving initial assistance, the woman was transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for medical care.
