Greek authorities are reinforcing ground and air resources, but adverse weather conditions, including wind and hot, dry climate, are complicating operations. On Paros, the fire started near a landfill and spread rapidly through dry vegetation, with no reports of residential areas being reached so far.
The risk of escalation remains high due to high temperatures, dry vegetation, and gusts of wind, a pattern seen in recent Greek summers, marked by recurring fires, evacuations, and significant resource mobilization.
