ADN Madeira Demands Transparency in Teacher Placements, Questions Discrepancies

The ADN Madeira party has asked the Regional Government to clarify how teacher needs are being met in the island's schools and whether the priorities set in the placement rules are being respected.

The ADN recalled that the executive announced the hiring of 245 teachers and assured that school needs were met. However, the party points out that recruitment reserves and public offers for various disciplinary groups continue to be used, raising questions about whether the placement possibilities for priority teachers were exhausted before new recruitment phases.

Additionally, ADN requests the disclosure of detailed data by recruitment group and, where possible, by school, including filled and unfilled schedules, hires, and open offers. The party also seeks an explanation for the difference between the initial estimate of 400 to 500 hires and the 245 actually announced in September, concluding that "teachers, students, and families need to know if each school has the teachers it needs and if the system is functioning with fairness and transparency."
