The National Democratic Alliance (ADN) in Madeira has announced a new dual leadership structure, with Maíza Fernandes and Miguel Pita taking over the party's regional coordination.
This new structure was presented at a press conference, which also marked the entry of Maíza Fernandes, a former Chega party leader and deputy, into the ADN. The party's national leader, Bruno Fialho, explained that this change is due to the growth of the regional structure and does not signify Miguel Pita's departure.
Maíza Fernandes, who had stepped away from party politics after leaving Chega, stated she accepted the ADN's proposal because she believes the party can do more for Madeira and Porto Santo. She emphasized the importance of proximity, rigor, and presenting concrete solutions in political action, arguing that autonomy requires responsibility and transparency.
Miguel Pita, who remains in regional leadership, assured that the new structure will operate as a team, without individual emphasis. The ADN's objective is to elect a deputy for Madeira, and Bruno Fialho sees Maíza Fernandes's addition as an asset to achieve this goal.
