Célia Pessegueiro, president of PS-M, accused the Regional Government of lying when announcing 100% execution of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), stating that initial objectives were not met.
The PS pointed to a housing development in Levada do Cavalo, funded by the PRR, as an example. Although completed, the apartments have not yet been handed over to families. Pessegueiro highlighted that housing construction fell short of projections and goals for elderly care homes were also missed.
According to the PS, the Madeiran Executive primarily governed using PRR funds over the past four years, criticizing a management approach that left many tasks for the "last minute." The PS-Madeira president deemed it more honest to admit non-compliance than to "invent and lie" about the program's success.
