Boaventura is in mourning following the death of Maria Verónica Andrade de Freitas Góis, member no. 2 of the Casa do Povo of Boaventura.
For many years, Verónica Góis was in charge of the Calouste Gulbenkian Municipal Library of Boaventura, promoting reading and culture. The Casa do Povo of Boaventura remembers her journey with gratitude, highlighting her contribution to the institution and the community.
The Municipality of São Vicente expressed deep sorrow over the collaborator's death, noting her dedication, kindness, and spirit of mutual aid. Condolences are extended to family and friends by the Directorate of the Casa do Povo.
The funeral will take place on Thursday, October 8th, departing from the Mortuary Chapel of Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça at 1:45 PM for the Parish Church of Fajã do Penedo, Boaventura, where a funeral mass will be held at 3:30 PM, followed by burial in the parish cemetery. On Sunday, October 11th, at 11:30 AM, the seventh-day mass will be held in the aforementioned church.
