Bordal celebrates World Embroidery Day by taking the factory to the street

As part of the World Embroidery Day celebrations on July 30th, Bordal – Bordados da Madeira is repeating its initiative to "take the factory to the street". Rua Fernão de Ornelas, in front of the company building, will be transformed into an extension of the factory between 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM.

Visitors can watch live demonstrations of all stages of Madeira Embroidery production, from design and stamping to finishing, with embroiderers working on-site. The facade of the Bordal building will also be decorated with stamped cloths, highlighting the traditional indigo blue colour.

Through this event, Bordal aims to bring the public closer to the art of Madeira Embroidery, revealing the knowledge, time, and human effort behind each piece, celebrating this living heritage tied to the island's identity.
