BUS lanes in Madeira are reserved for regular public transport vehicles, taxis, vehicles on emergency or urgent public interest missions, and police vehicles.
Furthermore, motorcycles and motorized tricycles are allowed to use these lanes, as stipulated in Article 77 of the Highway Code. Access to garages, properties, parking areas, or for making U-turns is also permitted within these lanes where signage allows.
Stopping or parking in BUS lanes and other prohibited areas indicated by road signs is strictly forbidden. Designated stopping and parking areas must be respected.
