The Union of Workers in Public and Social Functions of the South and Autonomous Regions has announced a strike for the General Careers of Public Administration, scheduled for October 2nd. The announcement will be made at a press conference on September 22nd, where the 2027 Demands Notebook for the Autonomous Region of Madeira will also be presented.
Key demands include the enhancement of the Unique Remuneratory Table (TRU) in Madeira, with a €70 increase across several pay grades, and an update of the meal allowance to €10.50. The union warns that hundreds of workers risk earning only the regional minimum wage, regardless of seniority.
The union also calls for the urgent opening of competitions for Operational Assistants in Health and Education, the publication of the Collective Labor Agreement for the Social Sector, a review of the performance evaluation system, and the creation of a special career path for Auxiliary Education Technicians. The union advocates for changes to the current salary and professional conditions of workers, which it deems stagnant.
