Câmara de Lobos is currently serving as the backdrop for the filming of a European movie focused on the fight against racism. Twenty young participants from four countries – Portugal, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Germany – are involved in the project, which runs until September 15.
The participants, who previously completed the first phase in Luxembourg, are collaboratively developing a story that addresses themes such as identity, prejudice, discrimination, and inclusion. Filming is taking place in various locations within the municipality, including the Teatro Metaphora and Escola do Rancho.
The initiative, named the European Youth Film Project on Diversity & Anti-Racism, employs cinema as a tool for dialogue and cultural exchange. Its aim is to foster collaboration among young people from diverse nationalities, encouraging them to confront different perspectives and experiences regarding diversity. Following post-production, the film will be screened in participating countries and used to create educational materials.
