Competitions like RDP-Madeira's Super Rock and Antena 3 Rock served as crucial rites of passage, opening doors to the music world, though not always leading to a consolidated career path. Nevertheless, several Madeiran artists have achieved recognition.
Acts such as Incógnita, Requiem Laus, Caim (who performed at Rock in Rio), Outer Skin (who opened Super Bock Super Rock in 2004), and Karnak Seti (praised by Moonspell's vocalist) have showcased local potential. Aires Pereira, bassist for Moonspell, and Ana da Silva, founder of The Raincoats, are examples of international success emerging from the island, proving that Madeiran talent can, and does, overcome local limitations.
