CDS-Madeira has reiterated its call for a minimum wage increase to €1,050 next year and for average salaries to grow above the inflation rate. The proposals were put forward by party leader José Manuel Rodrigues at the Festa dos Romeiros.
Rodrigues emphasized the need for salary increases in both the private and public sectors to reflect the region's economic growth. He acknowledged, however, that rising prices, the energy crisis, and interest rate hikes have impacted the purchasing power of some segments of the population.
The party also advocates for a 30% reduction in all IRS brackets, a decrease in IRC, maintaining the VAT reduction on essential goods, and controlling inflation. Furthermore, CDS-Madeira suggests increased public investment in affordable housing and support for social services for the elderly.
