Chega Accuses PSD of Altering Parliamentary Hearing Name to 'Whitewash' Hospital Crisis

The regional leader and Chega parliamentarian, Hugo Nunes, denounced a "political semantic maneuver" by the PSD in the 5th Permanent Specialized Committee for Health and Civil Protection. The alteration in question was the replacement of the word 'problematic' with 'situation' in the title of a parliamentary hearing.

According to Nunes, this modification aims to "whitewash" the crisis at Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital and protect the Regional Government, calling it an "insult" to patients and health professionals. Chega also criticized the PSD for not allowing testimony from the regional secretariats of Health and Social Inclusion, deeming it a "blockade" to distance political leaders from the debate on hospital overload.
