Chega Deputy Accuses Montenegro of Treating Madeirans "Roughly"

Chega (CH) deputy in the Assembly of the Republic, Francisco Gomes, accused Prime Minister Luís Montenegro of delaying the implementation of the new Territorial Continuity Model and disrespecting the rights of Madeirans.

During the State of the Nation debate, Gomes recalled that the Republic's Government has not yet implemented several measures planned in the new model, which replaced the Social Mobility Subsidy. The parliamentarian also criticized the absence of any mention of Madeira in Montenegro's opening speech, calling it "a disgrace" and a reflection of the government's low regard for the region and its autonomies.
