PSD Machico has raised concerns regarding the state of repair of the Praia da Maiata bridge, expressing doubts about the infrastructure's safety conditions due to its visible deterioration.
The Social Democrats questioned whether recent technical inspections have been carried out and if the bridge meets the necessary requirements to remain open to traffic, ensuring user safety.
This concern is heightened as the bridge will be part of the final section of the Porto da Cruz Nature Trail this weekend, an event expected to attract hundreds of athletes.
