PS Demands Implementation of Independent Living Support Model in Madeira

The PS Parliamentary Group in Madeira has announced it will not tolerate further delays in implementing the Independent Living Support Model (MAVI) for people with disabilities or incapacity.

The socialists condemn the amendment introduced by the PSD, which recommended only the evaluation of the model instead of its effective implementation, considering it a step backward. Despite voting favorably on the final proposal, the PS issued a statement of vote to express their disagreement and commitment to concrete action.

Isabel Garcês, a PS deputy, criticized the years of delay and the lack of concrete responses, such as MAVI, CAVI, or personal assistants, in the Region. The party demands that the model's evaluation include a timeline, funding, and participation from representative organizations, leading to its effective implementation, not just more studies or promises.
