Jaime Filipe Ramos: Political Stability Enabled State of the Region Debate

Jaime Filipe Ramos, parliamentary leader of the PSD, stated that the current political stability allowed for the State of the Region Debate, the first in three years, to be held.

According to Ramos, previous political crises led to early elections, preventing the conclusion of legislative sessions. He attributed the current stability to the "popular will that got tired of the games" played by parties that caused the crises.

Ramos pointed to recent economic progress, improved living conditions, and tax reductions in Madeira, promising that taxes will remain the "highest" in the region. While acknowledging housing issues, he assured that the government is taking action to address them.

The deputy criticized the opposition for not mentioning significant projects like the new hospital and the Porto Santo health unit, and described the opposition's discourse as "pessimism" that the population does not understand. The PSD will continue to advocate for Madeiran rights and "let them govern" in coordination with the Republic, maintaining the political stability desired by the population in 2025.
