The magazine SÁBADO revealed that Francisco Gomes, a Chega MP elected for Madeira, presented academic qualifications in his official biography at the Assembly of the Republic that did not fully correspond to his academic record.
According to the publication, the parliamentarian stated he was "a graduate in Political Science from Denison and Harvard universities." However, his time at Harvard in 2000 was through a Summer School, where he attended two courses. These credits were later recognized by Denison University towards his degree completion.
Chega's press office confirmed that Francisco Gomes' degree was awarded by Denison University, with coursework undertaken at Harvard. His parliamentary biography has since been updated to list only the degree from Denison, while still mentioning his time at Harvard. In a 2001 publication, Gomes stated he attended Harvard's Summer School and earned the title of "Harvard Alumni."
