A solemn commemorative session for the 50th anniversary of the installation of the first Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Madeira is about to begin.
The event is taking place in the square adjacent to the Assembly building, near the Chapel of Santo António da Mouraria. The open-air ceremony, covered by a canvas, will feature timed speeches from the parties represented in the regional parliament.
The President of the ALRAM will close the proceedings. The ceremony is attended by a large crowd of guests, including many former deputies and relatives of past parliamentarians.
