The Portuguese Competition Authority (AdC) was notified on August 10th of the acquisition of Alcotrans and FJRL by Grupo Sousa.
Both companies operate in the transport and logistics services sector. The concentration operation involves Grupo Sousa Investimentos gaining exclusive control over Alcotrans -- Agentes Transitários and FJRL -- Logística de Transportes.
Grupo Sousa, based in Madeira, is a maritime-port, logistics, and energy group. Alcotrans provides freight transport services by sea, land, and air, while FJRL, which owns property leased to Alcotrans, has closely related activities.
