The Center for Support of Child Development (CRESCER) will hold a free awareness session in Porto Santo on July 17th at 3:30 PM in the Municipal Assembly Auditorium.
The initiative, titled "From Thought to Words – Language and Executive Functions: Essential Processes for Learning," is aimed at parents, educators, teachers, health professionals, and the general community interested in child development. The goal is to raise awareness about the importance of early identification of difficulties that could affect children's school paths and development.
The session will cover skills such as attention, working memory, cognitive flexibility, planning, and self-regulation, considered fundamental for learning. Warning signs, the impact of these skills on academic success, the importance of early intervention, and the roles of family, school, and professionals will be discussed. The session will be led by Ana Marques (speech therapist) and Carolina Abreu (clinical psychologist).
Registration is free but mandatory, requiring pre-registration via email at [email protected] or by phone at 924 787 027. This initiative reinforces CRESCER's commitment to prevention and health literacy, bringing scientific knowledge closer to the community.
