The Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection, Micaela Fonseca de Freitas, highlighted the importance of a spirit of commitment and strategic vision among all sectors of society for the future of healthcare.
At the opening of the Conference-Debate ‘Paths of Consensus and Commitment for Health in Portugal’, the official stressed the attraction and retention of professionals as a priority, valuing careers to combat the challenge of insularity. Digital transformation, including the future Madeira Central and University Hospital and the User Health Record, was pointed out as an essential pillar.
The Region also focuses on prevention and health literacy. The event featured interventions from the Rector of the University of Madeira, Sílvio Fernandes, and the President of the National Health Council (CNS), Víctor Ramos, as well as a panel with representatives from the University, SESARAM, Funchal City Council, and Regional Directorates for Health and Integrated Public Policies and Longevity.
