A team of rockfall specialists from the Regional Directorate of Roads (DRE) conducted work to dismantle and remove unstable rock blocks on the Via Expresso 2 (VE2), around kilometer 2+450, near the entrance of the Ribeira do Inferno Tunnel, heading from São Vicente to Seixal.
This intervention followed an inspection by the Regional Laboratory of Civil Engineering, which identified the need for specific work on the adjacent cliff face to mitigate rockfall risks and enhance user safety.
The Regional Government, through the Regional Secretariat for Equipment and Infrastructure, reaffirms its commitment to preventing and reducing natural risks, aiming to minimize dangers and improve safety on the region's road network.
