A light vehicle skidded off the road early Monday morning on the expressway in Machico, heading towards Porto da Cruz.
Firefighters from Machico responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the driver outside the vehicle, conscious and oriented.
Despite an assessment by the firefighters, the individual refused to be transported to the health center.
