Duarte Freitas Highlights 8.75% Corporate Tax Rate to Attract Investment to São Vicente

The Regional Government intends to use the reduced corporate tax rate of 8.75% in São Vicente to attract private investment, create jobs, and retain young people in the municipality. The measure aims to stimulate the local economy, which should not depend solely on public investment.

Duarte Freitas, the Regional Secretary for Finance, explained that eligible projects in São Vicente can benefit from a 7.5 percentage point increase on the tax benefit provided by the base rate, in addition to the reduced corporate tax rate. This policy aims to compensate for regional disparities and address specific demographic and economic challenges in the municipality.

The objective is to make São Vicente more attractive for investment, promote economic activity, and create opportunities for younger generations, as part of a broader regional strategy for an innovative, sustainable, and competitive economy.
