Madeiran socialist Elisa Seixas has been appointed to the National Consultative and Strategic Council for Equality (CCENI), an advisory body of the Socialist Women – Equality and Rights (MS-ID).
The CCENI brings together specialists from various fields to support the definition of policies and proposals on equality and women's rights. Elisa Seixas, a former deputy in the Legislative Assembly of Madeira and a master's graduate in Women's Studies, has been part of the roster of specialists in Equality and Non-Discrimination of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG) since 2018.
The council, chaired by Carla Eliana Tavares and coordinated by Susana Amador, will comprise 41 specialists. It will organize working groups focused on topics such as the economic and social agenda, sustainability, prevention of violence against women, and digital rights. The proposals and recommendations developed will be debated within the Socialist Women and presented to the Socialist Party's Directorate and the PS Parliamentary Group.
