The women, who arrived in Venezuela in 1972, expressed their deep connection to their origins, stating "I have Venezuela in my heart and Portugal in my soul." They thanked the solidarity received, highlighting the strength of "Portuguese blood" to move forward.
The donations were described as "very important, both emotionally and economically," representing a sign of closeness and recognition from their homeland. The meeting reinforced their sense of belonging to the Ribeira Brava municipality, despite the distance and the years.
