The Mayor of Ribeira Brava Municipality, Jorge Santos, made a donation to the Portuguese Ladies' Benevolent Society in Caracas. The handover took place during a medical mission organized by the institution, with support from the Venezuelan Red Cross.
Lucecita Fernandes, president of the Portuguese Ladies' Benevolent Society, emphasized the importance of the contribution from Madeira and thanked Jorge Santos for his presence. She highlighted that these initiatives address the healthcare access challenges faced by Portuguese citizens and their descendants in Venezuela.
The visit allowed Jorge Santos to directly observe the institution's work and understand how donations collected in Ribeira Brava can help provide medical and social assistance to the most vulnerable population, reinforcing the municipality's connection with the Madeiran community in Caracas.
