The Program for Company and Job Creation (CRIEE), promoted by the Madeira Employment Institute (IEM), has supported the establishment of 625 companies and the creation of 1,036 jobs. This was achieved through a cumulative public investment exceeding 11.7 million euros.
The figures were released during the opening of Madeira's first Entrepreneurship Fair in Funchal. In the first nine months of this year, the program approved 33 projects, representing financial support of over 1.1 million euros and the projected creation of 47 direct jobs in sectors such as hospitality, tourism, and technology.
Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Work, and Youth, Paula Margarido, emphasized the importance of encouraging self-employment, advocating for the preparation and support of entrepreneurs. Secretary of State for Labour, Adriano Rafael Moreira, attending the fair, deemed the initiative a replicable example and highlighted opportunities in areas like artificial intelligence.
