Expansion works for the Figueirinhas Housing Development – Phase 1, in the parish of Caniçal, Machico municipality, have commenced.
The intervention will create 15 new plots for the construction of T2 single-family homes. These plots will be granted under surface rights.
The Regional Secretary for Equipment and Infrastructure, Pedro Rodrigues, visited the site to monitor the start of the works, which are scheduled for completion in 2027. He emphasized the investment's importance in addressing housing needs and encouraging more families to settle in the parish.
The project, promoted by IHM – Investimentos Habitacionais da Madeira, EPERAM, was awarded in June for approximately 760,000 euros, plus VAT, and includes the necessary infrastructure development. This initiative aligns with the Regional Government's strategy to enhance housing supply at controlled costs.
