The Santa Cruz Municipal Council will increase its investment this year in supporting local families with children attending private nurseries and kindergartens, through the Municipal Childcare Support Programme.
The council anticipates that the programme will surpass one thousand applications for the first time. The financial aid is designed to help cover expenses, with a particular focus on middle-class families who often fall outside traditional social support mechanisms.
The budget allocated for this year is approximately 400,000 euros, an increase from the 365,000 euros invested in 2025. Individual support ranges from 110€ to 660€ annually, distributed over 11 months. Applications are open from September 1st to 30th.
