The Regional Government of Madeira has announced that fuel prices are expected to drop by approximately eight cents per liter next week, for both gasoline and diesel.
According to José Manuel Rodrigues, the Regional Secretary for Economy, the final decision is being coordinated between the Regional Secretariats for Economy and Finance. The reduction is dependent on the evolution of international oil prices, but efforts are being made to implement this decrease.
Rodrigues reaffirmed the Regional Government's commitment to keeping fuel prices in Madeira among the cheapest in the country, aiming for a difference of at least 10 cents per liter compared to the mainland. This policy is supported by lower Petroleum Products Tax (ISP) rates in the region and the end of the "4-cent adjustment" applied by distributors.
