The Funchal Municipal Chamber (CMF) has approved its Local Housing Strategy for the 2026-2029 period during a council meeting.
The strategy outlines an investment of 40 million euros, aiming to construct around 300 new homes. This approval also enhances the CMF's eligibility for European funding.
CMF President Jorge Carvalho stated that the successful applications for community funds led to a budget amendment, freeing up resources for other municipal projects. He emphasized that the Local Housing Strategy has been revised to align with current needs.
