The parish of Santo António marked its 460th anniversary, with councilor Paulo Lobo highlighting the Funchal Municipal Chamber's housing initiatives.

The parish of Santo António celebrated its 460th anniversary at the Pico dos Barcelos viewpoint. Councilor Paulo Lobo, representing the Funchal Municipal Chamber (CMF), emphasized the parish's significance, noting it is the second most populous in Funchal and highlighting its communities, institutions, and traditions.

Lobo mentioned the municipality's increased financial support for Parish Councils through new inter-administrative contracts, with Santo António set to receive a 30% increase, amounting to 736,000 euros. This enhancement aims to bolster institutional cooperation and proximity work with residents.

Regarding housing, the councilor discussed ongoing and upcoming projects, pointing out that 94 new dwellings will be located in the Santo António parish. The revision of the Municipal Master Plan was also cited as crucial for promoting housing construction.
