Councillor Jorge Afonso Freitas has presented a proposal to the Funchal Municipal Chamber (CMF) to identify and correct issues with the city's addresses, such as repeated, non-existent, or outdated door numbers.
The initiative includes a comprehensive survey of addresses and police numbers, along with the creation of a unique, georeferenced database. This database will be integrated with the municipal Geographic Information System (SIG) to ensure all municipal services use consistent information.
Freitas emphasized the importance of accurate addresses for municipal services, postal services, emergency services, and other entities, enabling effective location identification. The proposal also suggests evaluating specific software for integrated management of streets, door numbers, and property locations.
