The ADN Madeira party has asked the Regional Government to regularly publish specific data on workplace harassment on the island, covering both moral and sexual harassment. The initiative also aims to strengthen mechanisms for information, reporting, and worker protection, creating safe avenues for seeking help.
Party coordinator Maíza Fernandes emphasized the need to assess the true scale of the problem, which might be underestimated due to fears of retaliation, job loss, or professional stigma. Fernandes noted that these barriers can be amplified in smaller, close-knit social and professional circles, such as those found in Madeira.
ADN Madeira proposes the annual publication of an anonymized regional report, the establishment of a confidential and easily accessible reporting channel, and effective oversight of prevention measures by companies.
