The Largo da Restauração in Funchal will host Food Week from September 21 to 26. The initiative, promoted by the Funchal City Council, aims to foster healthy, sustainable, and inclusive eating habits.
The opening will feature a showcooking by Chef Gonçalo Bota and an educational activity on edible plants. Throughout the week, there will be talks, workshops on meal planning, and showcookings with local chefs and schools. Highlights include activities on "Where is the Sugar?", the relationship between food and health, and the influence of school sports.
The event also includes a Healthy and Sustainable Market on Avenida Arriaga and a Community Soup on the 25th. The closing will take place in Santa Catarina Park with an intergenerational activity and picnic, requiring prior registration. The initiative aligns with the Funchal Municipality's Food Strategy – SEMEAR.
