Transport of first wind turbine blade to Paul da Serra park involves complex logistics

A large-scale logistical operation marked Sunday on the roads of Calheta municipality, with the transport of the first of nine wind turbine blades destined for the Paul da Serra wind farm.

The component, measuring 61.6 meters in length, began its approximately 30-kilometer journey in the early morning. The scale of the transport attracted the attention of many curious onlookers along the route, which proceeded slowly, with technicians adjusting the vehicle's boom to the road's characteristics and obstacles.

The most challenging point of the operation occurred in the Arco da Calheta area, particularly during passage through the tunnel, which took longer than initially anticipated. One blade is scheduled to be transported each weekend until all nine structures are moved.
