The Electricity Museum in Funchal will host the presentation of the book 'What Genes Say About Me' by medical specialist in medical genetics, Marta Zegre Amorim, this afternoon at 4:30 PM.
The public session, with free admission, will feature a special participation from Pedro Ramos, former regional secretary of Health and Civil Protection. The event is jointly organized by the publisher Contraponto and the Mission Structure of the Central and University Hospital of Madeira (EHM).
The book aims to demystify the impact of DNA on daily life, clearly addressing topics such as heredity, genetic compatibility, predisposition to diseases, and the influence of lifestyle choices on biological inheritance. The author describes the work as a practical guide to understanding the body's "instruction manual" and dispelling myths about genetic testing and future medicine.
