The Madeiran project 'Flauta Mágica – Madeira', authored by Carlos Pereira da Costa, was one of five opera projects nationally to receive funding from the Directorate-General for Arts (DGArtes) through the 2025 Project Support Program.
The allocated funding amounts to 55,000 euros and is part of a competition that supported 77 artistic projects across various fields, with a total of 2.195 million euros. The Madeira application was the sole selection from the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
In total, 222 applications were submitted, with 145 not receiving funding. The supported projects will run until February 2028 and cover the conception, execution, and public presentation of works, artistic residencies, and complementary activities.
