The Funchal City Council will conduct its second Medical Prophylaxis Campaign of 2026 for dogs and cats, running from October 24 to November 21. The initiative covers all parishes within the municipality and is intended for animals over three months old.

The campaign offers rabies vaccination, electronic identification, SIAC registration, internal deworming, health booklet issuance, and licensing. Participation is free for residents but requires prior registration at the respective Parish Councils, with limited spots available. Safety measures such as leashes are mandatory, and for dangerous dogs, muzzles and short leashes are required. Cats must be transported in suitable carriers.
