Funchal City Council joined the celebrations of World Informal Caregiver Day, marked this Thursday, 5 November, by lighting the façade of its main municipal building in purple.
The gesture aims to recognise and honour all informal carers and to draw public attention to their social reality and needs.
The council stresses that caring demands dedication, time and physical and emotional availability, making access to rest periods and psychological and social support essential for carers.
