Funchal now has a Farmers' Counter, located on Rua João de Deus next to the main entrance of Escola Secundária Francisco Franco. The service operates on working days from 9:00 to 17:30, in refurbished premises with seven service desks.
Promoted by the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Fisheries, the centre aims to bring together in one space support services for agricultural and livestock producers, previously spread across different structures. Among its functions is submitting applications for the Single Payment (Pedido Único); 3,052 applications were submitted through this service during the 2026 campaign.
The counter also supports applications for other incentive schemes, updates to the Agricultural Parcel register, and referrals to livestock-related services. The premises are designed for barrier-free access.
The government says the consolidation should simplify procedures, reduce travel and bring public administration closer to farmers and livestock keepers.
