Garachico Fire: Firefighters Mobilized After Fireworks Launch

A fire broke out in the Garachico area, reportedly caused by fireworks during local festivities, prompting the mobilization of volunteer firefighters.

A fire erupted in the Garachico area, with reports indicating that fireworks were launched moments before the flames began. The incident occurred around 11 pm during parish festivities, projecting sparks into an area of scrubland, trees, and pine forest adjacent to houses.

A resident voiced concern over the lack of responsibility, prevention, and supervision regarding fireworks displays during hot weather and high fire risk periods. An investigation into the incident and notification of the Festival Committee and relevant authorities have been requested to prevent similar situations.

Volunteer firefighters from Câmara de Lobos were mobilized to combat the blaze. No further information has been released regarding the circumstances or the size of the fire so far.
