Enthusiasm was visible among residents and tourists as the peak of the phenomenon approached, shortly after 7:30 PM. Many attendees had the recommended glasses for safe eclipse observation.
In Madeira, the eclipse was partial, covering almost 80% of the Sun. The event drew onlookers seeking the best spots to witness the Moon's occultation of the Sun.
